The mission of the SBVASP is to:
- Promote and advance quality education through the dissemination of information on educational issues and psychological research
- Promote the highest standards and ethics relevant to professional duties according to the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP) Code of Ethics
- Extend communication among other professional organiations and awareness of all available agencies
- Encourage professional growth through research and meaningful and effective in-service workshops
- Lend support and ideas to CASP
- Provide support to individual members
- Serve as a liaison to various community agencies
